Our mission

PreProBono

In 2008, JY Ping and Jerone Hsu launched PreProBono to expand educational access to law school and to forge a robust public interest network to develop and empower the social justice leaders of tomorrow. PreProBono is a 501(c)(3) program, fiscally sponsored by the grassroots not-for-profit incubator Prime Produce Limited, that helps economically disadvantaged, underrepresented minority, and female pre-law students acquire and utilize law degrees for conscientious careers in law. Our goal is to effect positive and social change and we do this by: offering LSAT prep, admissions workshops, and building a network of public interest minded individuals at low cost or for free.

The Pay It Forward model of service and support is at the heart PreProBono and 100% of our members are alumni of the program, who come from underrepresented or disadvantaged backgrounds. They unite across a cross-country community coalition of education, legal, corporate, and grassroots champions who recognize the urgency of our work and the need to expand the leadership pipeline of lawyers focused on social justice and a conscientious approach to the law.
